Heart Care

Located in the new outpatient facility at the Laurens County Health Care System, the Heart Care Program provides inpatient and outpatient care for patients with cardiac or pulmonary diagnoses and high risk factors. Patients are referred into the program by a physician.

Heart Care is divided into the cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs. Phase I of cardiac rehab is designed for inpatients, providing education about heart disease and the patient's response to activity. Phase II is outpatient recovery in the outpatient facility at the hospital and Phase III is the prevention series.

Services offered in Heart Care include:

  • EKG monitoring
  • O2 saturation monitoring
  • Blood pressure / blood sugar monitoring
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Stress management
  • Calisthenics
  • Nutrition classes
  • Smoking cessation
  • Individualized education on heart disease or related health care needs
